So, it's been a while. Since last year. I found facebook and have been doing that and now only doing this again because of the Chestnut Hill Local is putting my blog on the paper and will try to keep up on the sports I watch and hear from others. I love baseball, football, motorsports, and will keep up on the lastest sports from others that focus there love of a sport. Obviously without secluding myself in a room, I can't keep up with them all. I will let you know who I talk to though.

Tommorow is Martinsville race. 1/2 mile paperclip track. To some it's just another race. For me it's adreinndalin pumping just thinking about it. For 4 of us are going to the race. It means we get up at 11 p.m. Saturday night and drive all night long to get at Martinsville, Va from Philadelphia, PA. We will get there..watch the race and will drive back all in one day. We estimate time of arrival from the trip at 3 a.m. Monday morning. NASCAR>>>How bad have you got it?

So, this weekend is a great weekend. F1 starts and I'm officially excited about it. I'm starting this year of not missing a race. Good luck with that.

In Nascar, Bristol Tennessee. 1/2 mile track and a cereal bowl look to it. banking 12 degrees and full of heat from drivers-they tend to get in fights here. Yeah!

My friend Sarah is going to Clearwater,Fl to see the Phillies and take in a game. I will get photos from her so I feel like I was there, too.

That's enough really, isn't it? Oh, yeah...the family might want to do something as well.

Kay, so...this has been a while. Since November. It's now, March 2008. A lot has happened. I now have a iMac. This is great. Love the new computer. I also am learning how to use it. The salesdude told me this computer is set up to use. Not to look good and make you feel good about an expensive thing. That was me then, look at me now, baby.

I love this thing and love the idea that it was made for a person like me. I'm doing a blog here, Nascar.com community, in two parts and an article and hope to later on put on a podcast. What's stopping me? Me.

I'll get the hang of this. Here is a picture of Dale Jr and I at Mooresville, NC at Jr Motorsports, Inc. garage. Ok it's a wax of him. I can dream can't I damn it?!

Anyway, I will get more on here once I get onto the Nascar.com.

This will be a tough game. I was not worried about this game. Dice K is sketchy at best. We will see. We have a tough bullpen but, so does the Tribe.

Had a good day today. Took the family down center city to shop and the eat at the Reading Terminal Market. Yum. Pulled pork sandwiches are good.

Everybody got one thing or another. It was a good day.

There is nothing better than seeing a Spankee on the ground, winsing in pain and a coach looking over and can't do anything about it. I love days like this.

Jimmy Pack Jr. came into the store and told me that he loved my blog. OOopps. Forgot about it lately. When I did remember it I got a wicked case of A.D.D. and poof it was gone.

I now have Alexandra Leigh (my 15 year old) and will live with us until she graduates high school. I knew that this would be challenging but, sometimes I feel like "come ON!!!!!". She's a typical 15 year old american girl. Rebelious and plenty of attitude to boot. I make sure I say 'american' because my wife, Nicole, who is from Switzerland tells me that if she even tried to get close to the way Alex acts at times that she'd get her ass kicked. Have to take her word on that.
What else. Boston Red Sox are in the Lead of the American Leaugue East and (knock on wood) look for another post-season.
My other team (national) Phillies are struggling and might not have the same fate as the BoSox.
Two more weeks and I'll be in Dover, DE with 165 thousand of my closest friends. Yup, Nascar is coming home. 7 other friends and family will be there as well. Nicole and I have 8 seats for the event. Yee hahhh.
Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles need a new punt returner and don't cheat like the Patriots. HA!
Things are good with the wife.

Well, Nicole and I have decided to have Alexandra live with us and now we just need to figure out when. I'm nervious but, happy.
Nicole is working today and just putzing around the house today. Doing what I love to do. Play on the computer and stereo. Later today, Nicole and I are going to spend the night with Mum and Pop for the night. Pop called earlier and is looking forward to seeing us. He told me so. I like it there. Home away from Home.

Mom and Amy (sister) on family trip to Dover. This was one day before the Nextel Cup race we all went to.

Wow. A lot of things going on.

Alexandra Leigh (my child -14) is going to move back with Nicole and me. Great news. A good challenge.

Nicole and I are going to have a 14 year old in the house - full time. A challenge.

My mother has terminal cancer. Things are not looking so well there. A real challenge.

This is obviously bad. Although, the family is really getting better at the news, day to day and with each other.

There are reasons for everything. Our family is really close. Always been that way. Reason: Now is when we need each other and look out for each other.

Our family has been spiritual in one way or another. Reason: obvious.

Our family has been able to ask for help from others. Reason: No one can get thru times like these alone and do well with it.

Look, this is all challenges. There are reasons. The challenges will help out everything with me and for that I have the reasons.

There is nothing my Higher Power has put in front of me that that I can't handle.

Our family loves each other and have a great network of friends.

I will need all of your help during this time. Both will Alexandra and Mom.

No kidding, I scored tickets to see the Philadelphia Eagles last home game of season 2006. Against the Atlanta Falcons. Eagles scored win and title of 2006 NFC East Champions. Who knew that was coming? This is my best friend, David Cooper. (Forgive the pepsi in the background, I had nothing to do with that. Coca-cola is better by far.)

This is center field. Citizen Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pa. Last freakin' night for the Philadelphia Phillies in the regular season. That is one of the boys..from Hawaii-went to University of Hawaii at Hilo-, Shane Victorino. Go Shane go!! In the background is my least favorite player Pat Burrell. Dumb as rocks and slow as me.

Conference time on the mound. Chase Utley (2nd baseman) with pitcher Randy Wolf (he has a following, they call themselves the wolf pack with wolf head masks and all). Ryan Howard (Mr. 58 Homers this season) 1st baseman and short stop Jimmie Rolans one of the fastest men in baseball you'll ever see.

This was the last night, like I said but, we had a chance to be in the playoffs and every pitch counted. Every at bat counted. Every....you get the idea. The place was electric. Something in the air was great. Faith. To me, faith and baseball is one the greatest things you can ever witness. I shared it with 44,500 of my fellow believers. and my wife.

This is the victory lap by Jeff Burton 31 car. Congrats. It's been since the Phoenix 2004 race since he won. Right after all this it rained. Which is pretty funny because the Phoenix race won by Jeff Burton was because of rain. Rain is Jeff good luck charm I guess.

This is the winner of the Busch Series, finally -his first win of the season-, Clint Bowyer.
My wife took like 8 pictures of us turning the camera around and towards us. Finally I did this. What's even better than me was the dude right behind us. Classic stuff.
This is from the back yard of my dad's friends house that he doesn't stay at during the weekend of the races. Too bad for him, hooray for US!!! This house is in Lipseic, DE. Three minutes from the Dover, De 1 mile (nicknamed the Monster Mile) Speedway. Also, check Nicole and I in this photo. Notice my Rusty Wallace hat and Dale Jr. butt pad and the Kasey Kane #9 car we're posing in front of. Guess I just love any and all cool drivers. P.s. #24 is evil. I won't mention his name even. This is New Jersey's Martin Truex JR. In the 8 car, a teammate of Dale JR. This was during the Nascar Busch Series held on Saturday Sept 23rd.
This is my lovely wife (with the John Force-NHRA king- hat), with my very good friend Matt and his son Jonathon and his friend Dave. This was taken before the Sunday race of the Nextel series at Dover, DE. I love living in Philly with these kinda opportunities. This was also Nicole's 26th BIRTHDAY!!! Happy BDay, honey. I arranged for 164,000 of our closest friends to get together, hang out and 43 of my favorite drivers to entertain us for 4 hours. How bad have we Got IT!!!!

This is the day after. No photos. Very mixed emotions. For one, the media has just have to stop. Not only do they just over do the 9-11 incident, they just plain kill the personal view of it. This was the time in my life were I was still to have my first date with my now wife. Two weeks later, we had our first date. Stevie Nicks (more on that on a later date). At the shop that I am still working on, our neighbor, and friend, Bruce came over and told us that a bomb went off at the WTC building, the three of us, John, Dan and I took turns going next door to Bruce's TV and watch in astonishment what was really going on. We had customers and friends and family affected directly to all three incidents. For all that went on, I keep saying, the next 2-3 weeks I remember everyone in the area were very nice, and courteous with each other. I didn't hear a horn honk on the very busy Germantown Ave at all. Days later, people that came in realized that our lives were Not all that bad and that we all had a greater idea of how well we had things.
Not only at work but, everywhere else. From the streets I drove to the grocery store to the malls and everywhere else. Sometimes it didn't have to be said but, felt with one on one. The only thing about 9-11 I wish remained were those 2-3 weeks with each other to have lasted longer than it did. I hope everyone remembers those days after as I did and take time to ignite those feelings about others if you already don't already. I do not always, but try to. That's all I, and you can do. I love Rusty Wallace. Even though he's retired, still like him. Really glad that NFL is back. Eagles won today. Rules. Even better, Cowgirls lost!! Put Redskins in the 'L' category for this week and the 1 week will be complete. Too bad for the Bills. Pop's and my brother's favorite team. Michael Shumaker called this year (two races left) in F1 his final year. My wife is happy and I don't route for him but, don't really care too much. Still, it's motorsports. Nascar, the Chase (10 of them) are set after one of the better races of the season, after Saturday's race at Richmond, VA. Kenseth, J.Johnson, K.Harvick, K.Busch, Denny Hamlin (rookie), Jr., Mark Martin (possibly last year), J. Burton, The Devil(J.Gordon), and Kasey Kane is 10th. Red Sox are only 7.5 out of wild card race, gotta keep the faith. Phillies are 2 out with there loss today. Keep the Faith for the both of them. It's a must. I love Sundays. Had a bunch of real football folks over today for the Eagles game. A great way to start the season. My wife even got into the game. Tomorrow, God Bless America. A lot of people in my area were affected. I was too. Brings a tear every time I think of it. Really. Just please, remember and don't put too much politics into it. That's not what it is for me. I feel it would defeat the day by doing so. God Bless us.

This was on the second day of our trip. The kids got Mom and Dad a surprise 50 wedding anniversary party up at the cottage. We successfully pulled it off without a hitch. M&D were totally surprised. Go Us Kids!!! In the picture from left (why is it always starting on the left?) Karen and my brother, Aaron, Nicole and Me, Ian, Amy, M&D, Dejon, Jessie and Ilima. Ok here it goes... This is a bit blurry but, please remember I just had a Mountain Dew. Nicole with the boys. Oh, can I tell you about the discovery Nicole and I had? I'll tell anyway. Fried Oreos. YUP!! Oreos dipped into a batter and fried up. Guess the original fat content in an Oreo wasn't enough for the inventor of that. Urban Legend tells that the inventor is already dead of a heart attack.

Ok, last photo of my trip, I think. This is me 'playing around', as you can tell the project didn't get all the way done while I was up in Canada. The outhouse took a bit longer than 4 days. A lot of going and getting lumber and stuff, a lot of redesigning the plans, too. Dad did a bunch of the work for I do not know too much about this stuff. I followed directions to the best of my abilities. Sometimes that wasn't all too good. All in all had a good trip and only got into one spat with the family...ahh progress (small chuckle).

This is Pop and me working on the outhouse. Behind is the garage. The first day of the adventure was the hottest of the days that I was up there and that was the day Dad and I dug the hole. Hard work. I'll stick to retail anyday, thank you. I can do the work, although I'd hate to do it as a job. Too much troubleshooting. I'm disgusted with that. Do something and have it done. Not, 'well, that didn't work. let's try this...' - Oh, no!!! You can stick that in a handbag, Mister!!!!!

OK, so it wasn't all work and no play. This trophy (which I released-didn't want to go through the hassle of cleaning) was from a paddle boat 100 yards from the cottage in the Ottawa River. After a full day of working with Dad on re-doing a outhouse for the cottage.
More on that later.
Here's a great tid-bit --- On XM radio (which I have), this weekend they are starting the old Casey Kasem Top 40 show, commercial free. A whole marathon on channel 8 (for eighties-clever, huh?).

At lap 33 Nicole and I went to the front row, as you can tell no assigned seats allows us to go anywhere, and took this restart. We got this close to hear the power, feel it, smell it and see how fast 180 mph really is (as if we really need to, but really enjoyed it). After a couple of laps we went back up and watched the rest of the race.

These were our seats and frontal view. In the ARCA race the seats are not assigned and just sat in this area. After getting to the race track at 10 o'clock (what is that o' stand for anyway?) we parked next to the granstand and couldn't even see the thing. Eventually, it did clear up and after hours of the gang saying "let's just leave, in a minute.." we saw the 80 lap race. It was only to our clear indecision of what to do next, allowed us to see the great race.

Thought you folks might like this one. It's the lastest. Nicole, two friends and I went to the Pocono Raceway yesterday and parked right outside the merchandise trailer. This is what I saw first. Went to the ARCA race, which is a minor league for Busch Grand National Series. A drivers last attempt to get into NASCAR. We had a blast. Got up at 8 am and got home around 6:30 pm. In between was one corny joke and situation after another. It was great. DC, I had you in mind at times.

You have got to be kidding me another freakin' hot day. I'm up to here with that (no here). It's supposedly 'cooler' with less humidity. You got me you meterologist freeks. I'm not suckin' hot air for nothing.
Went to work today and just realized in a week I'll be in Canada at the family's cottage to help Mum and Pop out with odds and ends. Can't wait.
Nicole and I are doing well, dispite making dinner for a couple last night and they didn't even show up. 10 o'clock at night she text's me..TEXT'S ME... that she's sooo sorrry for not making it. Did you ever here of one and done. This is a classic case. It was the first and last time I'll be asking them over. Imagine that, inviting someone over and not having them come, after making a killer dinner. A garlic roast and some swiss cornmeal thing and salad and great hosts (if I might say so myself). I'm a bit ticked off about it as you can tell.

This is the Wissihicken. It is literally a half a block away from me. It's one of my safehavens. Also my fly fishing spot. Catch and release. I cannot believe today that it is 95 degrees and with the dewpoint so high, it feels like 101 degrees, according to weather.com, one of my favorite links. I'm a weather junkie. I remember years ago, KBIG in Hilo, Hawaii just got this radar in and it had funky colors. We'd report that we saw green, heavy green, yellow and if it was really bad -don don donnnn-red. I finally had a listener call up and ask 'what's with all the color stuff? It's grey out here.'

Yup, these suckers even grow in Philadelphia. This is right outside our apartment. My wife, Nicole, grows these. She's great at this, too.

Wow, I can't believe that it's a week already. A lot has happened. Let's go back a week, shall we? Michael B and I went to a dirt track. I got him into Nascar and he got me to my very first dirt track. Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. What a rush and thrill to be there and see the races.

Next week, a couple of guys and I plan to go to the ARCA race held at Pocono Raceway and then go to Grandview Speedway after that, on the same day. Yes, a full day of racing yeehahh!!!

Then last Sunday, I went to a friends house, Matt and his wife, Barb and a friend Paul. Believe it or not it was the very first time ever, EVER, I went to a friends house to watch a Nascar race (I've been to my family's house but, that was to recruit them into Nascar). This was a monumental day for me. I was really excited about it and showed it by talking way too much over the race. Oops, sorry guys and gal.

This week, Nicole and I went to Pirates 2. It was a great movie. She and I are getting used to being alone again, I have to tell you that I'm falling in love again with her. It's nice. I'm really a lucky dude. She puts up with me and my mental obsessions of sports and goofy things I do.

I was really excited about the second half of the MLB season beginning. Go Bosox and Phillies.

This is Chase Utley and Tom 'Flash' Gordon. They are at the All Star Game and I wanted to go. I don't like the next day after the All star game because of the Break. Grr. Chase looks really white in this photo, like he's sick. American League won 3-2. This photo was obviously BEFORE the game. I like going to ballgames. Just bought my new addition to my ever growing sports outfits and memborbilia. A Phillies Chase Utley xxl T-Shirt. It fits. When the heck did I become a XXL? Starting to wonder off and ramble. I will finish rambling in the hallway on the way to the John.

Yes, this is my little girl. 14 years old. What a sweetie. Good sport, too. She really doesn't like wearing baseball caps. But, wears it only if I bug here something aweful. Luckily she loves the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies like I do, luckily.
Alexandra Leigh now lives with her momma in Portland, Or. and I miss her aweful. But, at least I get to get on the computer now. Always look on the bright side of life (whistle tune now).

Wow, what a day. Started it off with raspberry waffles (yes, they are in the shape of mickey mouse-wedding gift), then off to my brothers in Elkins Park for BBQ and a great talk. Seems as though we don't do that enough. He is my older brother and just in the past 10 years we've started out our lives together. Even 10 years...seems like yesterday. Ooops off the track again. We also watched a movie over there...Johnnie Knoxville's special olympics movie..trust me when I say it's so wrong it's funny. I watched over a friends house and pool and for that he gave me the new Johnny Cash double CD - Personal File. It's a cd of Johnny Cash and his guitar and talking about his songs. Killer CD - I highly recommend cleaning a pool for a week, it's worth it. Back to the fourth-came home hoping for a few winks. Didn't get them. Just as I was lying down to slow down the day, my wife asked me to take her to the Abington Fireworks - off I go again.
P.S. fifth of July - after work went to the Phillies game (lost 6-3 - we'll win yet, just you see) and the Citizen Bank Park Fireworks following. Took a friend I owed a game to - so glad I did. My wife and Sarah and I love the game of baseball and we really had a great time. Fireworks were good, too.

You've got to be kidding me. I'm trying to work on this stupid blog and I have no real clue how this stuff works. I hope this makes it.
What a day. Long and winding. Got up late. I usually 'meditate' in the morning and didn't get to do that. I was told that I can start my day over anytime I want throughout the day, so I did...7 times. Some days are like that.
I miss my daughter something aweful today. More that yesterday. I wish that she would have stayed here. It wasn't meant to be.
It's 7pm and I have no idea where my wife is. I hate when she's late for work. I dispise her workplace. They have no respect for there workers and will eventually fire her for making too much money. They have that reputation like that on the Hill. (Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA)
I'm yammering..gotta go.

My buddy in Hilo, Hawaii has one of these and decided that maybe between the two of us we can communicate and share with our friends as well. It was great to here from Darrin and we roughtly figured out that it was about 15 years since our last talk. He and I worked together. I have the day off today. It's nice. 85 and humid, but after these past days of Hilo rain THIS area can't keep up with that. Flooding was inevidable. It hasn't gotten near us, but we are on a great hill. I've been married a little over two years now and the second marriage is great. I bit rough this year, what with having my 14 year old daughter here living with us. It was the first time she and I have lived together since she was 3. Things were a little different. She is finding herself in this world and I am trying to guide her. You try guiding a 14 year old...they know everything. I keep forgetting how much I have forgotten since I was 14. This should be enough for the first day. Talk to you soon.
